it takes a village to raise a child essay

It takes all of the people involved in the life of a child to give their best in doing their part in the raising of a child. This is why when prospective parents ask would we like to see their childs report card we say no, we enrol families not children.

it takes a village to raise a child children education for the community. The education of our children is the task of community as a whole, not merely the province of the teachers and local school administrators.

The old african proverb it takes a whole village to raise a child (mohamed, 1996, p.).

The african proverb, it takes a village to raise a child, 1 expresses an underlying truth. Most societies around the world do not expect mothers, or parents, to rear children alone. Most societies around the world do not expect mothers, or parents, to rear children alone.

It really does take a village! The strength of the individual is multiplied a thousand times when supported by the larger community this is even more true when it comes to the developing child. There is much research that shows the damage violence and stress can have on a child, yet the solution to this can be found in community.

there is a lovely african proverb it takes a village to raise a child. African culture recognises that parenting is a shared responsibility - a communal affair - not just the concern of parents or grandparents, but of the extended family. Uncles, aunts, cousins, neighbours and friends can all be involved and all have a part to play.

but it also means that a seamless approach to child care has been a necessity. I can name people representing seven different nationalities who have provided physical and emotional care for my son (and me!) during school hours, after-school hours and those infrequent weekend nights when i needed some time for my own pursuits.

, but everyone in that village has their own particular skill to impart to a child. Your skill- as a parent- is to love your child, care for your child, allow them to develop the skills they need to be able to go out in the world and become successful.
